We are a family owned transport company with more than 30 years experience.
Each week we help hundreds of people get their furniture, art and antiques moved from one place to another. All around the world.

And we are really good at it.

What do we do?

We pick up and bring items directly to you, and we even help you when you are moving from one home to another.

But that’s not all. We also ship items by plane and ship over long distances. Either in small batches or whole containers.
We even sell packing materials and handle transport and logistic services for when some of the biggest domestic and international galleries are going on fairs and exhibitions.

Our clients are both private individuals and professionel art and antique dealers as well as larger galleries and auction houses.

How long have we done it?

JH Transport was founded December 11, 1980.
Back then our name was J.H. International Transport Service. We were only 3 people and had a single truck.
Since then a lot has happened, and our business has expanded in such a way that we today employ more than 30 people and operate more than 20 trucks.

Our history

J.H. International Transport Service

JH Transport was founded December 11, 1980 by Johnny Ploug Hansen who today still runs the company.
When he started the company Johnny had already had 5 years of managing-experience from the company Fensholm International Møbeltransport A/S and in that way had created a name for himself in the business.

The company, then known as J.H. International Transportservice started out with just a single van. Very quickly, this was replaced with a truck and the following 5 years a new truck was added to the fleet every year.
As the orders began to flow, the revenue rose by 50-100% a year the first 5 years.

Bruun Rasmussen Auctioneers

1985 was the culmination of 5 years of hard work when a deal was made with Bruun Rasmussen Kunstauktioner, one of the largest and most reputable auction houses in Denmark. We were to handle all transport of art and antiques for the auction house.
This led to a rise in customers from the art and antique dealers in Copenhagen.

1985 was the same year we opened our packing department. Today this packing centre is one of the few in Denmark certified by the ISPM 15 standard.

Robert Jacobsen – ‘Friendship’

In 1996, we had a special assignment, setting up the 11 m. tall iron sculpture ‘Friendship’ by the Danish sculptor Robert Jacobsen, in the heart of Copenhagen, after having it stored for a few years.
The sculpture later went on auction at Bruun Rasmussen where it was sold to the German company Würth, and today it beautifully at their headquarter in Strassburg. We also handled the dismantlement and delivery to Strassburg.

In 1999 Lauritz.com opened up for the first online auctions. We have hav a close cooperations with them, since the beginning, and have helped with transports to and from their showrooms all over Europe.

Warehouse expansion

After a significant increase in turnover as well as staff and trucks in 2004, we expanded our storage facility in 2005 with the addition of a 700 m2 warehouse.

Awarded the Gazelle

In 2007 we were awarded the Gazelle, from the Danish financial newspaper Børsen.
